Welcome New Families

We invite you to become part of a community of faculty and families committed to helping students learn to experience their successes with grace and face their failures with courage as they lay the foundation upon which they will build the life of their own choosing.

Most families that consider Alta Vista are interested in investing in the best possible educational environment for their child’s formative years and in partnering with experienced professionals to support them and their child during this most important time of development and growth.

The Montessori Method and its principles are unique, and their results are being validated by new research (research http://ami-global.org/), as well as the accomplishments of over 100 years of Montessori graduates.

Our Montessori school has been a leader in Montessori early childhood education, offering an authentic Montessori program since 1998. It is an independently owned private school accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) and member school of the American Montessori Society (AMS). All our lead teachers are Montessori certified.

AVMS is also registered with the Illinois State Board of Education, a member of the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools (AIMS) and a DCFS Licensed Daycare Center. We offer open enrollment, and families can apply for admission at any time.

Since Montessori schools, like all other schools, differ from one another, the first thing prospective parents should do is schedule a tour and classroom observation. Our office is ready to schedule your appointment (847) 918-1621.

Why Alta Vista Montessori?

Why Alta Vista Montessori?

At Alta Vista, we are committed to preparing the children during their formative years to build a strong foundation with the skills and character needed to successfully follow their path in life. Children who are given the opportunity to work hard and accomplish big and difficult things, and contribute to their community, are better prepared to navigate the joys and challenges of adult life.

Families are drawn to Alta Vista Montessori School for several key reasons.

Alta Vista Montessori School is a recognized leader in Montessori education, accredited by the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) since it was founded in 1998 and member school of the American Montessori Society (AMS).

Our professional, certified, and experienced teachers prepare beautiful classroom environments designed to meet your child’s needs. They individualize the curriculum for your child, which is both faithful to the Montessori philosophy and reflects the latest in early childhood education research, as well as taking into account your child’s unique interests and abilities. Our teachers provide a place for your child to be socially confident, emotionally supported and academically challenged.

At Alta Vista Montessori School, we encourage and welcome our parents to take an active role in their child’s school and to join our staff in creating a strong and supportive community around the children who need guidance, modeling, mentoring and the support of their community to thrive. Parents looking for a place where their children will be loved and challenged rather than getting lost in the crowd will find that at Alta Vista Montessori School.

If these ideas resonate with you, we invite you to become part of our school community and enroll your child with us. We offer a wide variety of flexible and affordable schedules to meet the needs of today’s families, including All Year Montessori, which includes the Montessori school and daycare.
