Admission Process

Welcome to Alta Vista Montessori School, we are excited to begin this process and look forward to getting to know you and your family. We have open enrollment, so students can be accepted at any time during the year when space is available. Below are the steps we will follow during the admission process.

1: Schedule a Visit (plan for 45/60 minutes; it is recommended that both parents come together and that children do not come at this first meeting if at all possible. A meeting with the child can be scheduled at a different time.

  • meeting with the Head of School or School Administrator
  • receive Application for Admission

2: Submit Application

3: Admission Notification and Registration Forms Sent by Mail

4: Schedule New Family Orientation Meetings

Primary & Toddler

  • Parents meet with the classroom teacher. This meeting does not include the child; it is for parents only. Please allow 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Child visits classroom and meets new teachers for the first time. Please allow 20 to 30 minutes.

Infant

  • Parents meet with the classroom teacher. This meeting includes the child. Please allow 45 to 60 minutes.

5: Typical Transition Period (Infant, Toddler, Primary)

  • First Day: 9 to 10
  • Second Day: 9 to 11
  • Third Day: 9 to 12
  • Fourth Day: 9 to 12:30 or 1:15
  • Fifth Day: 9 to 3:30

Sixth Day: Regular Schedule
